Human beings are inherently drawn to stories. When people believe in a particular narrative, they begin to treat that narrative as reality. The problem arises when certain ideological groups or regimes monopolize the narrative, preventing people from developing the habit of independent and logical thinking. As a result, many come to blindly accept these dominant narratives as unquestionable facts.

However, there exists another kind of narrative—one that, while also imperfect, is open to debate, criticism, and revision. The fundamental difference lies not in which story is absolutely true (no narrative is free from bias), but rather in whether or not the story allows for questioning.

Those who are deeply indoctrinated by monopolized narratives often respond by saying, “Well, your side is just another narrative too.” But they miss the crucial point: an open narrative is not imposed; it invites scrutiny. A monopolized narrative, on the other hand, demands obedience and suppresses doubt.

This divergence creates a cognitive gap between people who can think critically and those who have been conditioned to follow without question.
